Fortnite season 7 UPDATE: New map location for Battle Royale and MAJOR release date event | Gaming | Entertainment

is coming soon, with the new Battle Pass possibly arriving on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android next week.

The in-game countdown says Fortnite season 6 will have its last full day on Wednesday, with a possible season 7 release date on Thursday.

It’s widely rumoured that Fortnite season 7 will have a Christmas theme, with the Battle Royale map turned into a winter wonderland.

And when it arrives the big update for fans could bring with it a brand new map location as well as a major release date event.

Eagle-eyed Fortnite fans have noticed what looks like a storm brewing on the Battle Royale horizon.

And since the launch of Fortnite update 6.31 earlier this week the approaching cloud has started to draw nearer to the Battle Royale island.

One Fortnite player has actually managed to travel all the way out to the storm to investigate it.

And what they have found could shed a big light on what will happen when Fortnite season 7 launches.

It turns out that when you get closer to it the Fortnite storm is, in fact, an iceberg covered by mist.

Hackers have also discovered that the huge iceberg has a tiny castle turret on it.

This looks to suggest that Fortnite season 7 will see the long-rumoured castle POI finally added to Battle Royale.

Maybe the start of Fortnite season 7 will see the iceberg crash into the map, turning it into a winter wonderland and adding the castle location?

The news comes after last week dataminers claimed to have found further proof of the Fortnite castle.

According to a post on Reddit, a castle can be seen within one of the Fortnite rifts.

The image appears to contain an outline of a castle with turrets.

Elsewhere further proof of an impending snow or ice event for Fortnite season 7 was discovered by internet sleuths.

Popular dataminer Fortnite Battle Royale Leaks has discovered new assets which suggest the Fortnite map in season 7 will be covered in snow.

In the Fortnite 6.31 update the @FNBRLeaks Twitter account discovered files which suggest an icy, wintery event is coming to Fortnite.

They tweeted: “This “Snow Storm” is an Ice Storm, and I have an odd feeling this has to do with next update (v7.0 / S7) There’s a “Distant” file which seems to be the current state of the Ice Storm, then there’s a “Surround” file, which what seems to be the Ice Storm surrounding the island”.

The news comes after last week the FNBRLeaks Twitter also discovered more files that suggested Fortnite season 7 will have a snowy theme.

The Fortnite leaker discovered in-game sound files for footsteps in the snow.
